Consistency is a key component to teamwork. Middle school cheer coach Kendall January said that is exactly what Kayla Dodge brings to the middle school cheer team.
A tumbler for the team, Kayla is working on her roundoff back handspring back tuck and makes sure she gets her tumbling reps in at practice. Coach January said she is a consistent presence both at games and at practice.
Kayla competed in the UCA regional competition with her team and exemplifies the PRA Way. Coach January said Kayla is prepared by always coming to practice and being present. She is respectful toward both her coaches and classmates. And she is accountable for herself at practice and school, always communicating when she can’t attend practice or needs to leave early.
Her positive attitude both at practice or an event encourages her team, Coach January said. She also roots for her teammates and supports them by helping out when needed.
“Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard. Kayla has a very hard work ethic both in cheer and at school. At practice, she is working hard to progress in her cheerleading skills. Her attitude and presence positively impacts the team.”
